A Mitzvah Photographer Who Has Stood Where Your Child Is Standing

I remember preparing for my own Bat Mitzvah: the study, the nerves, and finally completing the ritual in Israel. That experience is why I feel at home in the sanctuary and why I know which moments matter: the first touch of the Torah scroll, a grandparent’s face during the aliyah, the quiet exhale after the final blessing.

Over 35 years I’ve photographed more than 150 Bar and Bat Mitzvahs. In Atlanta, that means I know how individual congregations handle photography, I’ve built working relationships with local rabbis, and I plan around each synagogue’s rules instead of discovering them on the day.

• Pre-service portraits. I photograph your child before the service, often for the sign-in board or guest book, so we get comfortable with each other before the big moment.
• The ceremony. Torah service, aliyot, the Haftarah, parents’ blessings, and family details photographers unfamiliar with Jewish ritual tend to miss. Shot discreetly and within your congregation’s guidelines.
• Family and group portraits. Posed portraits of your immediate and extended family, planned around the time you have.
• The party. The hora, candle-lighting, friends on the dance floor, and the candid moments in between.

Atlanta Bar & Bat Mitzvah Photography FAQs

How much does a Bar or Bat Mitzvah photographer cost in Atlanta?

I offer several Bar and Bat Mitzvah photography packages as well as hourly coverage, and I’m happy to customize a package to fit your celebration. Albums from my partner design studios are available as an add-on. Contact me with your date and venues and I’ll send rates.

Will we get the digital files?

Yes. Every package includes high-resolution digital files, so you can print, share, and preserve your photos.

Can you photograph inside the synagogue during the service?

That depends on your congregation. Some Atlanta synagogues allow discreet photography during services; others limit it, especially on Shabbat. I work within each synagogue’s rules and, where needed, schedule a pre-service photo session on the bimah so you still get those images.

Do you photograph both the service and the party?

Yes. Most families book me for the pre-service portraits, the ceremony, family portraits and the reception. If the service and party are on different days, I can cover both.

Which areas of Atlanta do you cover?

All of metro Atlanta, including Buckhead, Sandy Springs, Dunwoody, Decatur, Roswell, Alpharetta, Smyrna and Marietta. For events farther away, travel fees may apply and will be outlined in your contract.

How far in advance should we book?

Dates are reserved first-come, first-served, and families often book a year or more ahead. Reach out as soon as you have your date.
