Del moved to Seattle in the fall of 2011 and found himself shortly after his arrival at fundraising dance hosted by a mutual friend of his and Amy’s. That is where they first met. They then got to know one another at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. They were both attending a Catholic young adult reading group, studying a book by Cardinal Timothy Dolan. They found each-other fascinating. Throughout the next few months, they got to know each another at the reading group, and at parties hosted by mutual friends. Finally, during Christmas of that year, Del left Seattle to visit his family during the holidays. He found himself totally smitten with Amy, and began emailing her while he was away. They spoke a lot over that two-week period. They then had their first real date when I came back to Seattle in the new year in 2012. The rest is history! Their wedding was a large affair with lots of kids present as Amy said she wouldn’t have it any other way. It was a lively party surrounded by family and friends.
